Young girls in sciences and technology urged to follow the success stories and make the progress in this area to cover and benefit the digitalized era.

On Tuesday 07 Nov 2023, Minister Dr. Valentine Uwamariya joined UNWOMEN Rwanda Country Representative Jennet Kem, in the dialogue to highlighting young women and girls leadership in digitalization and entrepreneurship, with the aim to raise awareness on the need to scale up their capacity in STEM and digital skills.

Key message: Minister Uwamariya recalled the journey of girls in sciences, technology, sports, entrepreneurship and other strategic areas and urged them to follow the success stories and make the progress in this area to cover and benefit the digitalized era.

Rationale:  The day marked by exhibition and showcasing where FAWE, Igire Rwanda, Catholic University of Rwanda and Rwanda Network of People Living with HIV (RRP+) who brought out the best practice of digital empowerment among young women and girls who benefited from the projects. Young women and girls exhibited their products, services, and innovations in the field of IT. The dialogue also served as a platform for networking, learning, and exchanging experience with other young women professionals.

MIGEPROF and NCDA meet philanthropists to discuss collaboration in Early Childhood Development

Friday, 09 November - Minister Uwamariya and the Director General of the National Child Development Agency (NCDA), Ingabire Assumpta, welcomed a delegation of philanthropists from Big Win and ELMA to discuss potential collaboration and interventions aimed at enhancing the Early Childhood Development (ECD) program.

The meeting served as a platform for exchanging ideas and exploring ways to further improvement of the quality and accessibility of early childhood education and care in Rwanda.
